Good evening to you all, welcome to this weeks blog. I was planning on starting this weeks with a big thing about how we are going to spank the yanks in next weeks Ryder Cup with our fearless leader Rory McIlroy returning to his scintillating best. Sadly I have put this later in the blog after hearing about the very sad news about the passing of Arnold Palmer last night. I did not grow up during his peak years, but I understand what he did for the game of golf, how he modernised the game and helped shape the game to what we play now. I am sure for some of the older generation of golfers, he will be remembered with fond memories of his close games with Jack Nicklaus.
I hope you all managed to stay awake on Sunday night to watch the exciting finish to the FedEx Cup? It certainly seems as though Rory McIlroy has peaked at the right time as far as the Ryder Cup is concerned. In my opinion his form, over the first three and a half rounds, was not what we have come to expect of this great player.
Much has been made of Davis Loves final wildcard pick and how he intended to use it. In the end, Ryan Moore got the nod. If you look at the stats he has been the best performing American golfer since the USPGA Championship and his performance during this weeks Tour Championship certainly backs this up. I thought that Bubba Watson would have been the final man to make the team, but that would have gone against the recommendation of the famed USA Ryder Cup task force that allowed the Captain his final pick this close to the main event.

Despite the slight down turn in temperature my diary continues to be very busy. If you are wanting a lesson please take this into consideration, currently the earliest you can get a lesson with me is towards the end of next week. If it is just a quick check or brush up on a particular area then why not join one of my hugely popular group sessions?
Every Monday morning I take a different session based on a different skill, so this Monday coming I will be helping pupils escape the bunker, first time, every time! These sessions are very popular and if you would like to join in, head to the professionals shop just before 9am for men and just before 10:30 for ladies.

As a final reminder Jane and I are heading off on holiday to Japan for two weeks in October, we are both looking forward to the break after busy summers. Please take this into account if you are thinking about having a lesson.
