Good evening everyone, I hope you are all doing well and you have managed to get all your Christmas shopping done? For once I have got all my present sorted in decent time, and with a couple of present still to wrap I feel as though I am on top of things.
This weeks blog will only be short as I am sure you are all looking forward to spending some time with your friends and family.
Over the last couple of weeks the juniors have really got into the Christmas spirit with some belting Christmas jumpers and hats and this has helped me get into the spirit myself. This week we had a Christmas Special where by the juniors had to chip into a target, once they did this they had to think of a word that began with a letter of the word CHRISTMAS, for example:
They enjoyed this so much we did it again, but with CRACKER as the word and we even got the parents involved and I think they were more competitive than the children! We followed this with 'Paul's Rubbish Advent Calendar Game' If the children got the ball through a target they got to open an door on the calendar, sometimes it was not always a treat they got! I have attached some pictures of the last couple of junior sessions with some captions to go with them.
Since my last blog I have also been able to squeeze a game of golf in as I took part in the Christmas AmAm here at Hornsea. Without been too spectacular I played some steady golf and after 13 holes I found myself a fairly respectable 1 over par, sadly it wasn't bonfire night on the remaining 5 holes as the fireworks failed to go off and I played some poor shots to finish with a 79. I thoroughly enjoyed playing and although my team of Stretton, Captain Keith Marshall and Head Greenkeeper Gareth did not play to our best, a good day was had by all.
Now, if you have not finished your Christmas shopping, you really are in the last chance saloon! If you do need a gift for someone then why not give them the gift of better golf with my Christmas lessons offer. My normal lesson price is £25 for 1 hour, but for the festive period I am offering 3 hours for just £60. The shop will be open until approximately lunchtime on Christmas Eve, so there is still time for you to pop in a grab one.
Finally a big thank you to everyone who has supported me this year. The list is long and most probably endless, but without the continued help and support I would not be where I am today. Unfortunately I can not name you all, but I hope you realise who you are.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
