Good Evening to everyone. I hope you have had a nice weekend, full of golf! For me it was a quiet week, but it did give me chance to play! Shock horror, yes, I actually had 2 games last week; one on Tuesday and one on Sunday. On Tuesday I played with Nathan and although my swing felt extremely alien to me, I was relatively happy with how I struck the ball, despite getting beaten by Nathan on the last hole after I failed to 2-two putt the length of the green. Well done Nathan! Hopefully I will be playing more over the coming weeks.
On Sunday it was good to see the changes to the 7th and 8th starting to take shape with the drive on the 8th becoming easier, yet the approach being made harder. I have attached a picture of the front of the 7th, where the tee shot from the white tees will be very interesting. Anyone trying to pitch the ball short and let it roll up will now have to be much more accurate as it extends across the green more.
In the golfing world the return of Tiger Woods was the main talking point after reaching full fitness on his return from injury. It may have not been the best of returns for Tiger as he struggled for form, especially with his chipping - see the video. It is great to see Tiger back and it will be interesting to see if he can get back to his peak, now that he has a new coach. If he does get back to form then we could see some fantastic golf in 2015 with him and Rory going at it like Jack and Arnie used to. Interestingly, both Tiger and Rory have never played in the same tournament with both in top form. Who do you think would come out on top on a Sunday afternoon in a Major; Tiger or Rory?
With Christmas now only 17 days away I am pleased to say that I have done most of my shopping...have you? If you are struggling for ideas then why not treat someone (or yourself) to some golf lessons with me. You can still take me up on my Christmas offer of 3 hours of coaching for £60, which is great value for money. The 3 hours can be split up anyway you want, whether it is best to have 30 minutes every couple of weeks or is it worth spending an hour on the course? Pop into the shop to speak to me and we can talk about the best course of action for you.
If individual lessons are not your thing then why not join one of my group lessons? Each week I deliver a 90 minute session on a different topic, today was a ladies only session on putting and tomorrow (Tuesday) is the turn on the gentlemen. Have a look at the pictures to see which best suit your needs.
Finally this is pretty much the last call for anyone wanting to go away for some warm weather training next March. I have teamed up with Algarve Sports to offer a great deal to Amendoeira in Southern Portugal. It features 5 days away with unlimited golf on two courses, free buggy hire, unlimited range balls and free coaching from me. If you want to go, please come and see me in the shop.
Have a great golfing week
