I hope you have had a good bank holiday weekend, I know the weather was not great on Sunday, but Saturday and Monday certainly proved to be good for golf.
A couple of weeks ago I proposed to Jane, my partner of 6 years and thankfully she said yes! We are looking to have the wedding later this year. This Saturday after the Junior lesson we went and found a lovely ring... what do you think?
The way our feet react to the ground is hugely important as it gives us a solid object to push against. A great example of this is throwing a ball... I will bet that you can throw a ball further when your feet are touching the ground than when you are jumping in the air!
Standing too upright makes me look very wooden and stiff, which will result in a swing that is not very powerful. Neither of these positions are particularly athletic or dynamic and over use of these can lead to back probelms.
Having my hands too close to my body means I am starving myself of room. If I have my hands this close I have to move my hands and the club away from my body, from here I wil find it hard to get the club back to the spot it started in. This brings in so many different types of shots because the hands have very little room to move and very little consistency can be attained.
I am really looking forward to this week as it sees the return of my 'After Work Club' lessons. For those that remember, last year I started doing group lessons on a Wednesday evening from 6-7:30pm. Now that the clocks have gone back and summer is well and truly on the way I have started these sessions up again. They start this Wednesday (6th) with a session on putting, so if you need to brush up in any area, then please feel free to join me. I don't know about you, but after a hard days work a refreshing beverage always goes down well, so if you are keen for a drink after, I will see you in the 19th!
At Hornsea Golf Club we believe that growing the game of golf is very important so we have teamed up with the national initative www.getintogolf.org to do just that. Over the summer we are putting on some sessions for different demographics of the population. We have organised various sessions ranging from 'Father and Sons' to 'Mothers and Daughters'. Have a look at the schedule I have attached and if you fancy coming to one then please get in touch.
